After such a long winter, it's time to get excited that spring and summer are finally approaching us!  The Urban Group has made is easy for you and your family to plan all of your downtime, highlighting all of the upcoming local spring and summer events.  We've included something for everybody – festivals ranging from free to ticketed events, as well as family oriented to adults only.  There is so much to do and explore in Burlington and Oakville!


Mother's Day Champagne Tea

When: Saturday May 12th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Where: Ireland House Museum located at  2168 Guelph Line

What: Enjoy premium tea, a glass of champagne and champagne infused desserts.

When: Saturday May 12th & Sunday May 13th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Where: Towne Square

What: Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend downtown with a garden tea party.

Burlington Herd Home Opener vs. Kitchener Panthers

When: Saturday May 12th from 1:05 PM to 5:00 PM

Where: Nelson Park located at 4183 New Street

What: First ball game of the season with live music, inflatables, face painting and more!

Centro's Farmer Market

When: Weekly beginning May 13th from 9:00 AM to Noon

Where: Centro is located at 437 Brant Street, parking off John Street.

What: Food focused local farmer's market in Burlington Downtown.

Northeast Oakville Fair

When: Sunday May 27th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Where: Iroquois Ridge Community Center located at 1051 Glenashton Drive

What: Family-friendly activities, great food, live music and more!

Run for Lighthouse

When: Saturday June 2nd from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Where: Lions Valley Park located at 2417 Fourth Line

What: Walk or run for a cause, followed by awards ceremony, BBQ, entertainment and more!

Kite Festival

When: Sunday June 3rd from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM 

Where: Brant Hills Community Centre, followed by Brant Hills Park

What: Build a kite or bring your own to help fill the sky with colour and celebrate diversity.  Enjoy free family fun, entertainment and vendors.

Sound of Music Festival

When: Saturday June 9th to Sunday June 17th

Where: Burlington’s Downtown and Waterfront

What: The largest local music event of the year features the Sound of Music Club Series, Grande Festival Parade, Downtown Streetfest, Family Zone, carnival and vendors.

Secret Gardens of Oakville

When: Sunday June 17th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Where: Various gardens throughout Oakville

What: Tour some of Oakville’s outstanding gardens - sure to inspire!

Concerts in the Park

When: Sundays & Wednesdays beginning June 17th to August 12th from 7:30 to 9:00 PM

Where: Central Park Bandshell located at 2311 New Street

What: Free musical entertainment under the open sky at the Central Park Bandshell.

When: Friday June 22nd to SundayJune 24th

Where: Sheridan College located at 1430 Trafalgar Road

What: Ribs, cold beer and live music are complemented by hours of family entertainment!

Canada Day in Oakville

When: Sunday July 1st 

Where: Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park located at 2340 Ontario Street

What: The event will feature small-scale activities and fireworks display.

Canada Day in Burlington

When: Sunday July 1st from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Where: Burlington’s waterfront and Spencer Smith Park

What: Celebrate our nation’s birthday with the entire family!  Enjoy free Canadian-inspired activities and entertainment all day long, concluding with fireworks at 10 PM.

Movie Under The Stars

When: Weekly beginning Thursday July 5th at 9:00 PM

Where: Various parks throughout Burlington

What: Free outdoor movies for the whole family! All movies start at 9:00 PM weather permitting.  Bring your own lawn chairs or blanket and come early and reserve a spot.

Burlington Downtown Car Show

When: Saturday July 7th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Where: Brant Street in downtown Burlington
What: Fun family event with over 160 cars on display, along with live music, sidewalk sales and children's activities.

When: Sunday July 8th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Where: Queen Elizabeth Park located at 2302 Bridge Road

What: The Oakville Children’s Festival offers a line-up of free entertainment designed to encourage children and families to explore and discover arts and culture.

Midnight Madness

When: Friday July 13th from 6:00 PM to midnight.

Where: Downtown Oakville

What: Enjoy food, live music, entertainment, with over 6 blocks of free family-friendly entertainment.  Shop, dine and enjoy all that Downtown Oakville has to offer!

2018 RBC Canadian Open

When: Monday July 23rd to Sunday July 29th from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Where: Glen Abbey Golf Club located at 1333 Dorval Drive

What: Oakville will host Canada’s National Men’s Open Championship for a record 30th time, welcoming the stars of the PGA Tour.

Royal Canadian Circus

When: Thursday July 26th & Sunday July 29th

Where: Corpus Christi Secondary School parking lot located at 5150 Upper Middle Road

What: 10th generation circus families performing for your families - everyone can enjoy a truly affordable show together regardless of age.

TD Songs of Summer Festival

When: Friday August 10th to Saturday August 11th

Where: Downtown Oakville 

What: Free two-day event from afternoon – evening. The event will have multiple stages, with over 40 performances, plus multiple interactive art zones throughout the downtown area.

Lakeside A La Carte

When: Sunday August 12th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM

Where: Spencer Smith Park

What: Spend the afternoon by the water sampling the offerings of over 40 restaurants, vineyards and craft breweries.  Tickets go on sale on May 1st.

Burlington Children's Festival

When: Sunday August 19th from 10:00 to 5:00 PM

Where: Spencer Smith Park

What: Among the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario! Celebrate being a kid while enjoying live entertainment, play zones, as well as the Crafts Kids' marketplace.

What: Burlington’s largest and most successful community event begins on August 31st lasting all Labour Day weekend!  Plenty of food, vendors and live entertainment.
