Discovering The Best Neighborhoods In Burlington, Ontario
Burlington, Ontario is a beautiful city located on the shores of Lake Ontario. It’s known for its great schools, vibrant downtown, and numerous parks and recreational areas. As a seasoned Burlington Realtor, I’ve had the privilege of helping numerous families find their dream homes in the area. I often get asked; “What’s the best area to live in Burlington?” and the truth is, there is no “bad” area in Burlington. We are truly lucky in this city to have a very low crime rate and a city that is overall just an amazing place to live. It really depends on what your needs are and the style of home you’re looking for. In this blog, I will highlight some areas you might want to consider and what they are best known for.
- Roseland: Roseland is a highly desirable neighborhood located in the south-central part of Burlington. It is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, large lots, and beautiful homes. The area is home to some of the best schools in Burlington and is within walking/biking distance to the downtown core. It is also located near the lakefront, making it an ideal location for those who enjoy being close to the lake. There aren’t very many condos or townhomes in Roseland so if you are in the market for this style of home, one of Burlington’s other neighbourhoods may be a better fit. But if larger family homes or estate style properties is your cup of tea, look no further than Roseland!
- Aldershot: Aldershot is a popular neighborhood located in the west end of Burlington. It is a well-established community with a mix of older homes and newer developments. The area is known for its mature trees, parks, community centers and growing shopping district. It is also conveniently located near major highways and the Aldershot GO station, making it an ideal location for commuters. If you enjoy nature, more diversity in the style of houses around you and a walkable community, then Aldershot may just be for you.
- Millcroft: Millcroft is a prestigious neighbourhood located in the northeast part of Burlington. It is known for its beautiful homes, great schools, and proximity to golf courses. The area is home to a variety of housing options, including detached homes and townhouses. It is also conveniently located near major highways and shopping centers. This location is ideal for those looking for great school districts, impressive homes, like living in a golf course community and need access to highways.
- Downtown Burlington: Downtown Burlington is a vibrant community located in the heart of the city. It is known for its beautiful waterfront, excellent restaurants, boutique shops and waterfront festivals. The area is home to a variety of housing options, including condos and townhouses. It’s also conveniently located near major highways, making it an ideal location for commuters. If you are looking to live in a walkable community and access to many options of things to do than downtown Burlington may be a great place to call home.
- Alton Village: Alton Village is a newer community located in the north end of Burlington. It is known for its family-friendly environment, great schools and beautiful parks. The area is home to a variety of housing options, including detached homes, townhouses and condominiums. It is also conveniently located near major highways and shopping centers. If access to highways, great schools, newer homes and amenities is important to you than give Alton Village a look.
