Bronte is bordered by the West and South West communities of South Oakville, along with the Lake Ontario shoreline and is in close proximity to the city of Burlington. It is bounded by Lake Ontario to the south, Burloak Drive to the west, the QEW highway to the north, and the Bronte Creek to the east.

Bronte was a town prior to becoming part of Oakville 100 years ago. This community has since been made up of the Village of Bronte as well as the neighbourhoods that have been developed to the west of the village in the past 30 years.

Bronte is noted as Oakville's other "downtown" offering the most public access to the lake, coinciding with the Oakville Harbour. Some of Oakville’s best condos, great restaurants and scenic places to walk are found within Bronte.
Bronte offers a wide selection of condo apartments and bungalows which were built during the 50's and 60's, located on 60' x 125' lots. Redevelopment has become a prevailing trend within the community of Bronte, featuring lakeside condo towers including The Shores and Bluewater. Tearing down and building new homes within walking distance of the Harbour is also a possibility within this community.
